BBQ FACTS: Serving the Food

When taking bbq sauce recipe food off the grill, use a clean platter. Don’t put cooked barbeque sauce recipes food on the same platter that held raw meat or poultry. Any harmful bacteria present in the raw meat juices could contaminate safely cooked food.

Can You Really Make Money Online With A Free best business to start now?

Filed under: Holliday, Personal — admin @ 10:50 pm

Can You Really Make Money Online With A Free best business to start now?

The constantly rising gas prices, inflation, and uncertainty in the job market worldwide is

causing people to look for additional methods of generating an income and some are even finding

alternative ways of making money. Many are turning to the internet in the hope of finding the

ideal best business to start now that will make them the money

they need. Building an online best business from home can be a challenging undertaking and can

cost you a lot of money if you do not choose and plan carefully.
The word “free” is so overused on the internet today, that people have become cautious and

wonder whether free opportunities are in indeed free, and whether using a free best business to

start now along with free marketing techniques can actually make you money.
Is there really such a thing as a “free” paint stars on ceiling

opportunity? The answer is yes! An example of a free opportunity is an affiliate program. All

you have to do when setting up an affiliate marketing business is sign up with an affiliate

merchant and tell others about their product. If any of your referrals buy the product, you get

a commission.
The next step is to promote the affiliate website. Many companies actually set up your website

for you and yes, they do it for free. Why? Because you are going to help them grow their

business. They will not pay you unless you sell one of their products so it’s a win-win

situation - They have nothing to lose, you have nothing to pay and everything to gain.
However, while all this sounds wonderful, you will soon discover that getting traffic to your

affiliate website can be a challenge which will require determination, planning, and hard work.

To begin getting visitors to your affiliate website, you can use free traffic generating

techniques such as forum posting, blogging, classified advertising and article marketing.
The problem with the free site you receive from the affiliate merchant, is that the same

website will also be available to all the other affiliates selling for that merchant. It means

you will be facing a lot of competition.
Added to this, when you send visitors to the affiliate merchant’s site, you’re no longer are in

control of what your visitors do. If they do not buy, then you do not make money and these

days, people rarely buy on their first visit to a website.
To overcome this challenge, you may need to spend a little money. The amount of money I am

talking about is less than a decent dinner for two. This will enable you to build your own

website and host it. Once you have your own website, you can create your own content and

pre-sell to your visitors before sending them to the affiliate merchant’s product.
Also, when you have your own website you can set up what is known as a squeeze page where you

offer your visitors a free report on a given topic, or a detailed review or maybe a free

e-book, in exchange for them joining your opt-in mailing list.
Some affiliate programs will provide you with a brandable e-book that will place your link

throughout the publication. You can offer this e-book to those who join your list and every

time they click on a link from the book, they will be clicking on your embedded affiliate link.
The truth is, that to get quicker results you may want to spend a little money but it is

pennies compared to starting a conventional business. However, if you are willing to wait a

little while for the results, you will find that you really can make money using a free best

business to start now… It does work!

MLM Recruiting - Stop Hard Selling Your Prospects In Order To Recruit Better

Filed under: Holliday, Other, Personal — admin @ 12:02 pm

MLM Recruiting - Stop Hard Selling Your Prospects In Order To Recruit Better

One of the worst fears in MLM recruiting is the harsh rejection that comes with prospecting.
This happens quite often in network marketing and people, including the distributors themselves figuratively ‘wet their pants’ when they try and pick up the phone and share with others about their network marketing opportunity.
They even try and get their close friends and relatives to join. Normally, they will seem at ease or comfortable with their buddies, but when it comes to network marketing; their social skills go haywire as they try and shove their network marketing business opportunity down their throats.
This is not the right way to build your network marketing business!
Hard selling and strong arming someone into your opportunity is not the right way to build your business and if you try and force others to sign up, you will inevitably chase people away - especially your close friends and relatives! It’s no wonder people say that MLM recruiting methods make people lose their friends when they start avoiding the distributor like a dangerous plague.
If you truly want to achieve success in your Starscapes.com business opportunity, the first thing you must do is to stop hard selling. Don’t be so desperate for sales. After all, you must realize that when you tell someone to sign up on the first meeting, it is like asking a guy or a girl to marry you on the first date!
Committing to a business decision takes time, trust and requires a degree of understanding of the business otherwise, even if they do sign up, they might not necessarily do it with a firm conviction and it is just a spur of the moment.
By investing in your personal development, social skills and understanding the proper sales psychology, you will be able to better your chance at surviving in this network marketing jungle. At the very least, it will greatly minimize harsh rejections.

Make Money on the Internet with these Niche Marketing Ideas

Filed under: Holliday, Personal — admin @ 2:00 pm

Make Money on the Internet with these Niche Marketing Ideas

One reason so many people love working from home is they can make money on the Internet doing

what they love most. Many money making businesses from home are

started on niche ideas that were spawned by a special skill or a favorite hobby of a mom, dad

or single person. Of course, the key is to find a niche market you can target easily without

much stiff competition. Even in markets that have a lot of competition, a niche business can

work well if you use certain marketing techniques such as keyword article marketing, press

releases, link exchanges, contextual advertising, pay-per-click, etc.

So what makes a niche home based business for women so

wonderful? Its simplicity! Owning a niche business means focusing on one particular type of

product or service instead of many. Some will recommend that you diversify your business if you

want to make money on the Internet. To diversify, however, means to concentrate on several

different business opportunities, hoping that at least one of them will succeed. The problem

you may run into is having too many tasks at hand and not enough time to handle them all.

Instead of succeeding at one of your businesses, you might end up not succeeding at all.

With a niche business, you can keep your focus in one area of interest. This means you can put

all your energy into promotions, customer service, and website design for this one venture. You

can even add other products or services along the way that are related to your business. For

instance, if you own a gift website, then adding items such as holiday greeting cards, creative

wrapping paper and accessories, and maybe even special delivery services would make sense.

These are all related to your core niche business and won’t necessarily cause you to abandon

your “first love!”

How to Discover Your Niche Business Opportunity

Probably the most difficult task when it comes to making money online is finding that niche

business that’s just right for you. You might think, “Hey… I don’t have any special skills or

interests.” If that were true, you’d probably live in a plain white-walled room with no

television or phone! Everyone is interested in something - even if it seems unimportant.

Do you have a favorite sport or hobby? What about baseball, football, golf, soccer, bowling,

hunting or fishing? Do you love to sew quilts or make homemade gift baskets? Are you into

computers, electronic games, or family board games? Do you enjoy cooking, cleaning or simply

raising your children? Do you love to sing or play a musical instrument?

If you read through the list above, I’m sure something will come to mind that you enjoy doing

at work or in your spare time. You might be surprised to learn that all the fun “activities”

mentioned above have become a lucrative source of home based business income for thousands of

people just like you! There are stay-home moms who make a living selling e-books with tips

about child rearing, cooking, sewing or cleaning. There are men who sell e-books about their

favorite sport or hobby along with related products. You can easily find e-books about fishing,

hunting, and every sport imaginable - all with a price of $19.95 or greater.

Look online to see how many home based business websites you can find related to playing games

and strategies for PlayStation, Microsoft Xbox or Nintendo systems. Have you noticed the parade

of websites related to selling musical instruments or offering singing tips? Not to mention the

many affiliate opportunities available today in which you promote the products of various

companies to receive a commission.

All these offer an extraordinary opportunity to make money on the Internet - right from your

own home computer. With a little Internet marketing know-how and lots of enthusiasm, you too

can start to make money online while following your passions.

Fortunately, there is an array of e-books available that were written by folks just like you

who have made their way on the road to online success. By reading after successful home

business owners, you can learn their secrets and apply their methods using your own niche

ideas. Armed with their advice, you can make money on the Internet without wasting time or

money. Get started today with your very own niche business!

Home Business Ideas To Help You Lose The 9 to 5 Job

Filed under: Holliday, Other, Personal — admin @ 9:56 pm

Home Business Ideas To Help You Lose The 9 to 5 Job

With the internet constantly developing, more and more home business ideas continue to arise for entrepreneurs. While there are some tremendous opportunities to pursue, there are also a number of scams that you have to be wary of. With a little research and a few tips, you can find the perfect business opportunity for you to venture into.
Affiliate marketing continues to be a solid home business idea. Affiliate marketing involves you selling other people’s products and then earning commission of the sells. The affiliate program will provide you with banners and links to place on your web site. As people click on the link and purchase something from the affiliates business, you earn a certain amount of commission depending on the rates of the program.
While affiliate marketing has a great potential, freelance jobs can make you a lot more money. There are several different kinds of freelance jobs that you can pursue giving you the ability to do what you want. If you have skills in writing there are freelance writing positions. There are also copywriting positions, graphic designing and many more.
A Starscapes.com business opportunity
that has begun to dwindle down over the past few years is selling advertising. However, there is still money to be made through online advertising. Google Adsense has been the top provider for advertising on the internet. All you have to do is place Google ads on your web site somewhere. As people click on the ads, you earn a small amount from the clicks. Over a period of time this adds up.
Another home business idea that is constantly growing is article writing. If you think about it, quality content is something that every business and web site needs. While many people have ideas, they do not always possess the writing skills. And because of this many are more than willing to pay for fresh and enticing content.
The last idea to consider is creating a web site and selling your own products. There is nothing more rewarding then selling your own products that you created. Along with selling products of your own, having a web site also gives you the opportunity to do all of the methods listed above. While it can become a handful, it will give you multiple ways to generate income.
The list of home business opportunities is endless as the internet continues to grow. These are just a few of the top methods people are making money online today. Branch out and try a few to see what works for you. With hard work and motivation you can have success in any and all of these ideas.

Interest Charges

Interest Charges

However, you must also consider that a building business credit card company also charges interest. The longer you take to pay off a balance the more interest you build up. In this way paying the minimum on your business line of credit card is actually a bad idea as it is a never-ending process. Once you’ve paid off one amount you have to start paying off another month’s debt.

How to Clearly Define Your Target Market For Your Network Marketing Business

Filed under: Holliday, Other, Personal — admin @ 1:25 pm

How to Clearly Define Your Target Market For Your Network Marketing Business

In building your Network Marketing business, it is critical to know exactly who your target market is. Clearly defining your target market with upfront research should always be your first step in planning for your Network Marketing business.

These are several key questions to ask yourself when doing your research.

Here’s a short list that should get you going:

* What is the demographic of your customers? e.g. income level, gender, education, age, marital status * Do they have a specific location? e.g. country, state, city, county * What do they want? * What are their key problems? * What do they currently buy?

Once you clearly define who your potential customers are, you can begin to set up your marketing strategies around them. But until you do, you should not even consider starting your Network Marketing business (or any kind of business).

People so often come up with their product which, in their eyes, are superior in quality, and then start looking for customers who can benefit from the use of this product. When people take this approach, they are at the risk of investing a lot upfront to come up with the products to sell while not really knowing whether they will sell.

While searching for the customers, they will need to store their inventories so that they can ship the products quickly as soon as they find the customers. This causes them to incur unnecessary expenses for storage and possibly lose their initial investment if they can’t find the customers to buy them.

If you can first spot a group of people who has a specific want, need, or problem they want a solution for, and then come up with the exact things they are looking for, it makes things so much easier with much less risk.

Here are a few examples:

* Starbucks ==> coffee drinkers * Borders ==> book lovers * Eye doctors ==> people with poor vision

Each of the above has a specific group of people who has specific wants, needs and problems they want a solution for. It wouldn’t have been wise for Starbucks to come up with the best tasting coffee without knowing whether there’s enough people who can and will spend $3 bucks for a cup of joe.

Now, when it comes to target markets for your Network Marketing home business, there are several possible categories depending on your approach. Here’s a list of possible target markets:

* People who have purchased a network marketing business opportunity before (or who are already in network marketing, who are currently spending money on pursuing a home based network marketing business), who already recognize their need for a network marketing business.

* People who are presently researching your Network Marketing company and seeking the best sponsor, team and upline on Google, Yahoo, MSN or even offline talking to people. These people have heard of the Network Marketing company, products, marketing system, and/or business opportunity, and are doing their “homework” to validate the information about the company, products, marketing system, and/or business opportunity and the best team to join.

* People interested in finding a way to make money, but who aren’t specifically aware that they need a Network Marketing business (yet). These people are looking in your direction with obvious interests, but are still in the “tire-kicking” stage. Until they actually spend money by starting a home based business, or invest money in learning resources (books, CDs, DVDs, seminars), they are just looking.

* People who already buy or use a related product or service of your Network Marketing company.

* People with a PROBLEM who are looking for a SOLUTION (e.g. PROBLEM = poor health; SOLUTION = high quality dietary supplements)

* People looking on the web for your specific product by name. These people are the hottest product leads.

Once you grasp which target market you want to attract to you, you simply need to start giving away valuable content that they are looking for through various point-of-contacts e.g. social networking sites, social bookmarking sites, etc.

Remember, you don’t want to chase after your target market. You want to always ATTRACT them to YOU. Give to get. Give without want. And you’ll soon be attracting them to YOU and your Network Marketing business.

Land a Banking Job With a Cover Letter for a Banking Professional

Does working in a bank appeal to you? If so, go for it with a cover letter example for a banking professional. You might want to be hired as a teller, an account executive, a loan officer, or a clerk. Whatever your goal, you can move closer to it by writing a cover letter for a banking professional that includes details about your education, expertise, interest in the job and why you’re a good candidate for it. Of course you’ll attach a resume too, but the letter is a more personal document that gives the hiring manager a chance to learn something about you as a person. Be sure to end your cover letters for banking professionals by asking for an in-person meeting to discuss the job.

Home Business Expert: Law of Attraction

Filed under: Entertainment, Holliday, Other — admin @ 9:20 am

Home Business Expert: Law of Attraction

Nothing could be truer than the old saying that affirms “to become a positive looking business person, one has to be a positive looking person first”. But we often forget this fundamental issue and blame others for our failure. The work at home person needs to remember this and understanding the law of attraction will be of great help to her. So what is the law of attraction? Let us find out here.
Before we take a look at how the law of attraction can help a home business owner, we need to find what it is in the first place. So what is the “law of attraction”?
What is the “law of attraction?
Actually the law of attraction is nothing new - it is simply one of the better known universal laws. In simple language, it implies that we get whatever we attract. But to be an achiever, we must always attract positive thoughts; we must attract positive thinking people in our lives, too. According to the law of attraction, when we begin to attract negative thoughts, the results may also be negative as a consequence.
What does the law of attraction mean for the home business entrepreneur?
Many a Starscapes.com business opportunity owners have taken the conscious decision of not taking up a job and have opted to work from home. And there are quite a few who have even left their full time jobs to start a home business. This is why they need to be supremely confident and they should always stay positive. If you have started a work from home business, you must know that you can make it a success and so you should keep the faith. Keep believing in your abilities, stay positive and motivated and good things are bound to happen.
As the entrepreneur, when you yourself begin to have negative thoughts, then your thoughts are bound to influence your actions and such negative actions can only lead to negative results.
Although the law of attraction may sound simple, making the law of attraction work on a conscious level may need some amount of self training. Our biggest problem lies in our age-old beliefs that revolve around negative ideas and a fear of the unknown. But for those who are bold enough to conquer the fear of the unknown, the universe bows down before them. The law of attraction works in a positive way for them.
The appropriate application of the law of attraction involves three basic issues that comprise
(a) Asking (what you want). Unless this is clearly known or assessed, the desired object can hardly be delivered to you.
(b) Believing (in what you are asking). This is quite significant since your firm belief in what your goal is paves the way towards delivering the goods.
(c) Receiving or reaching (your goal) whenever opportunity comes your way. Vacillating at that crucial hour can be disastrous since opportune moments hit a person only once in life.
As you can see, all the above three factors of the law of attraction are a part of our thought processes that are manifest in actions like asking, believing, receiving, etc. Now, the law of attraction also includes controlling those thought processes that are basically tiny pulses of energy.
As we engage ourselves with our thoughts and let them out of our system, these pulses of energy travel around the universe, gathers positive or negative forces and recoils back to us with much bigger force. If we think in terms of harming a person, the tiny speck of energy picks up far more harmful energies en route and comes back to us with more harmful episodes. Thus runs an old Chinese axiom, “The fire that burns in your heart for somebody else, burns you more”. Similarly, a positive thinking for a person will come back with far more impact than what it originally was made of. This is why the law of attraction asks a person to remain positive.

Become a Sales Manager This Sure-Fired Way

Business Expense Deductions

Filed under: Holliday, Other, Personal — admin @ 11:05 am

Business Expense Deductions

The overriding rule on home business expenses is that you may not have a loss (for tax purposes) resulting from deductions for the business use of your home. You can carry over expenses to the next year. Expenses for the home based business opportunity use of the home can be deducted in the following order:
Real estate taxes, mortgage interest and casualty losses, if any. The portion allocable to business use is deductible.
Direct expenses that benefit only the business part of the home, which include painting or repairs made directly to the specific area of the room used for business (except day-care). These direct expenses are fully deductible.
Other indirect expenses such as rent, utilities and services.
Depreciation - a portion of the value of the home and equipment used in the business is deductible. If you sell your home after taking a business deduction on the depreciation, you must recognize any capital gain or loss on that business portion regardless of whether you buy another home or not.
All expenses listed above are subject to the income limitation (no loss for tax purposes) as mentioned.
A useful IRS publication, No. 587 entitled “Business Use of Your Home,” is available. Anyone considering taking home business deductions should obtain a copy by calling the IRS toll free number at 1-800-829-1040 or talk to an accountant for up-to-date information or check the IRS website at http://ftp.fedworld.gov/pub/irs-pdf/p587.pdf
Income and expenses of a home-based business are reported on schedule C (Form 1040). Supporting schedules for depreciation, self-employment tax (social security), etc. may also be required.

“Can You Live Where You Work… and Work Where You Live?”

Filed under: Entertainment, Holliday, Other — admin @ 12:13 am

“Can You Live Where You Work… and Work Where You Live?”

A unique situation occurs when a business opportunity is operated out of the home. Conflict can result from the infringement of the customer/business interaction on family functioning. A family and business does not integrate successfully in the same space without some planning. Five areas of family functioning are likely to be affected.
Family cohesion. Each household will need to answer the following: 1)What will the business demand from the home space? 2)What does the family need from the space in the home? 3) How can you develop a management plan for household space use that best accommodates your family and your business?
Personal and family time schedules. If the schedules of family members are fixed and intermeshed (one car and each person needs to be on time for various commitments), a Starscapes.com business opportunity would have to meet this time schedule. It would be difficult to retail items such as paintings and crafts if customers stop by anytime.
Use of space. Is your business one which requires storage space, an area for customer interaction, specialized tools and equipment, or convenient access for pickup and delivery? Is confidentiality a problem? The arrangement of space may affect ongoing family activities. The most convenient part of the house for customer interaction, pickup and delivery is often the most shared and public parts of the house (kitchen, living room, etc.).
Space separations must be maintained for deductions as business expenses for tax purposes. One must determine if this part of the house has too many uses that are part of the pattern of your family’s life to also be used in the business.
There are many different types of home-based businesses, but they can be grouped into broad categories: production/service; consulting or counseling; sales or marketing and mail order. These different types of businesses have different space needs. Thinking about what category describes your business can help you begin to think about space needs. Think about storage space, space for tools and equipment, production space, area to meet with clientele, pickup and delivery and office space.
The Neighborhood. How do your neighbors feel about a business in the neighborhood, and do city and county codes permit your business to be established in the neighborhood? Higher traffic in the neighborhood may cause disenchantment among friends and neighbors. A seamstress may consider fitting garments at the client’s house or secure alteration business through a clothing store or dry cleaners in order to preserve the character of the neighborhood, for example.
Shipping and deliveries could be made to a U.S. postal service box or parcel service branch office to avoid unwanted truck traffic.
Risk handling behavior. Another aspect of family functioning which relates to a business at home is the family’s attitude toward risk. Some are risk seekers who look for opportunities to be tested, willingly take financial risks, and promote novelty and change in their lives. Others tend to avoid change and desire a secure environment at home and around the family.
For complete information and worksheets order, “Can You Live Where You Work…And Work Where You Live?”, publication 354-306, from the Virginia Cooperative Extension Service, Distribution Center, Landsdowne St., Virginia Tech, Blacksburg, VA 24061-6192. Publication cost is $1.50.

What is not an Emergency?

Filed under: Other, Personal — admin @ 7:25 pm

What is not an Emergency?

Books for school may be an emergency situation in some cases, but magazine subscriptions, adult chat lines, 1-900 horoscope phone numbers, and HBO on Demand are not. Theater or concert tickets are not emergencies, cell phone bills are not emergencies, except in some situations. Paying for a cell phone may be acceptable; but putting all your friends expenses on your building business credit card because they promised to pay is absolutely not.

Why have a business line of credit Card at all?

Home Business Misconceptions

Filed under: Holliday, Other, Personal — admin @ 6:56 am

Home Business Misconceptions

In my home business coaching sessions, I have found that many people start their home businesses based on misconceptions, myths, and half truths.
They are being told that they can sign up for a few programs, build a site around those topics, slap the banners and links on their site, then sit back and collect the money - never having to work again.
Wrong.
The truth of the matter is that there are more people who fail at their home businesses, than people who actually succeed.
These people are not told that they will actually have to work twice as hard at their Starscapes business opportunity as they did at their traditional job. They are not told about the hours and hours of marketing time that they will put in. They usually are not even told by the affiliate managers how to market the products or their websites.
They have up lines that are inactive or flat out ignore them. They don’t have the first clue as to how to build a downline, much less how to offer support to their downline. They don’t understand conversion rates or the concept of PPC (pay per click) programs.
However, they truly believe what they have been told - They believe that they can get rich by doing absolutely nothing. These are otherwise intelligent people. Why would they believe this? They believe because they want to believe. Because they see it everyday, everywhere on the Internet. They are told that it is possible. They not only want to believe it - for their own reasons, they need to believe it.
Unfortunately, it is my job to tell them the truth and then they feel let down. By the time a client comes to me for help, they are already a bit disillusioned. Since initial clients usually begin by paying for one session at a time, I go ahead and burst their bubble during the first session. I don’t want them to spend money that they don’t have on an idea that won’t work.
After the first session, the client is left to make a decision. They either have to do what it takes to make their business a success, toss the idea out the window, or keep doing exactly what they have been doing with the exact same results (or lack of results as the case may be). Less than half are willing to do what it takes to succeed. The rest toss the idea out the window. I’ve never had a client who decided to keep doing what they had been doing.
I do have a point. My point is that if you are an affiliate manager, or if you have a downline, be honest. Tell your affiliates and downlines the truth. Tell them upfront what will be required of them. Be honest about possible earnings, and be honest about your own earnings. After being honest, “look around” to see who is still interested in your business. I promise, there will still be people interested - people willing to put forth the effort that is required. These are the people that you want to invest your time in.
Once you know who is serious about the business, work with them closely. Offer them all of the support you can possibly offer. Make suggestions to help them improve their site. Put together marketing packages and ideas for them. Start a forum for your downline, and be active in that forum. If you haven’t heard from them in a while, send them an email or a card and ask them if everything is okay. The more successful your downline is, the more successful you are.

It is never a good idea to pay only the minimum amount on your business line of credit card statement, as far as you can, try and pay off your bill in full. Keeping that in mind, you want to choose a bank building business credit card with a low interest fixed rate.

Another inquire is the grace period from the time of your purchase to the time that the company starts to charge you interest. If the grace period is relatively short on the card you are looking at but it had a low interest rate it is worth it to look at some other card options.

Late Fees

Late Fees

Being even an hour late can mean being charged with a late fee. All business line of credit cards come with a limit; you probably chose your building business credit card company because it had a limit that suited you. So, what happens when you go over limit? You are charged an over-the-limit fee for going over the agreed limit you had with your credit card company. Sticking to these two rules can save you unnecessary spending.

Decision to Start a Home-Based Business

Filed under: Entertainment, Holliday, Other — admin @ 9:35 pm

Decision to Start a Home-Based Business

While being in any kind of business has certain basic requirements, a home based business opportunity has additional ones. Self-discipline is very important. Working for others means that many responsibilities are shared with other employees. Being in business for yourself means you carry the whole load. Some people don’t want all of the responsibility of licenses, regulations, taxes, insurance, keeping records, advertising and pricing, etc. Are you willing to take on these responsibilities?
Depending on the home business, you may find it very confining, stressful, expensive and physically exhausting. On the other hand, being on your own can be very stimulating, financially rewarding and satisfying.
A home-based business may cause problems within the family. You need the full support of spouse, children and others. They need to take you and your business seriously. What help can you expect or do you need from family members? Use of their money, skills and time often make the difference between success and failure.
Will you have adequate time to spend with your family? Doing work part-time or postponing starting a business a few years may enable you to better prepare for starting a business and allow you more time with your family when they particularly need you.
Lack of planning and insufficient financial backing join poor management as the main reasons why businesses fail. Improve your odds of success by moving slowly and carefully in starting a business and you can join the 95 percent of those who succeeded in their first year and the 85 percent who are still in business and doing very well after three years.

Other factors to consider

The decision to go into business is based on a thorough study of factors such as the potential market, sales promotion and advertising, location, making the product or setting up the service, delivery of the product and profit potential. Consultation with a small home business expert such as a Small Business Administration Service Corps of Retired Executives Association (SCORE) counselor or the Small business opportunity Development Center (SBDC) staff (1-800-445-7232) will help you decide if the particular small business would be feasible and help find answers to the following and other related questions: How likely is it that the business will be profitable? What is the competition? Is there a long-time need for the product or service, or is it a fad-type item? Are you an expert in producing the product or service?

Turn Flea Market Buys Into Gorgeous Home Decor

Filed under: Holliday, Other, Personal — admin @ 5:20 pm

Turn Flea Market Buys Into Gorgeous Home Decor

Don’t you just love the flea market?
It is a treasure trove for the bargain hunter. You never know what you might discover in a flea market.
You could end up with an entire collection of postcards, or vases, or pressed flower portraits or rather intriguing works of art. All for amazingly low prices. One man’s junk could well be your treasure. Perfect for recession time home decorating.
Who says cheap stuff must look cheap? If it fits in with your decor and you absolutely love it, buy it.
Okay, this can be tricky if your home is small and overcrowded. If that is the case, maybe you should sell stuff on the flea market instead of buying more. Still, you can always rotate the gorgeous finds and display some while keep the rest away safely in the storage cabinets, for when you get tired of the existing displays.
The trick is to go for themed buys. Think collections!
A dozen or more wooden postcard make quite a stunning bathroom display if they carry the same theme (e.g. seaside) and are grouped together in an aesthetically pleasing manner. An added bonus is that they give the occupant something to look at while doing his or her business opportunity and home business.
A collection of flower pressings or drawings or same-themed artwork from the flea market can make the guest room a lot more interesting if they are framed up and arranged in an orderly manner on the walls.
Or you could cheat and get a kid’s artwork. How to create a knock out display has some fun ideas to try out along that line.
A glass cabinet comes to life when you fill it with pretty vases that complement one another. A collection of crystals or costume jewelry will look stunning when lit up in a glass cabinet. A collection of porcelain dishes look stunning displayed in such a cabinet too.
You don’t have to stick to the conventional. Exotic scarves and shawls and fabrics look gorgeous draped over a sofa or a bed.
You don’t need a masterpiece of a costly sculpture to make your home look special. Flea market buys can look amazing if you know how to use them.

Starting A Home Based Business Requires A Realistic Outlook

Filed under: Holliday, Personal — admin @ 8:51 pm

Starting A Home Based Business Requires A Realistic Outlook

Many people that decide to start a home based business opportunity are destined to fail because their motivation and expectations are completely unrealistic.
Over the years I have helped thousands of people start up their own Starscapes.com business opportunity on the the Internet and I have come to recognize two of the most important factors for identifying people that should NOT attempt to start a home based business.
If a prospective entrepreneur says something like…
“I’m broke and need to make some money…fast!”
or,
“I want to start a home business, but I don’t want to spend anything on it until after I start earning some money.”
…it is certain that they need a “reality check” and should not attempt to start a home business under either of those conditions. I refer to these two comments as the “death sentences” for starting a home based business.
Almost equally important is the need to have realistic economic expectations when undertaking a home based business. There is no magic here folks. A home based business provides many rewards such as working in the comfort of your own home, avoiding a stressful commute, being your own boss, setting your own hours, no dress code, etc., etc., but anyone that is also expecting “instant riches” is sadly mistaken.
There are a tremendous number of home business and work at home opportunities offered on the Internet. Many of these are all hype and try to convince you that it doesn’t take any effort and that you will be making huge amounts of money in very little time (you know, stuff like…”you will be making $5,000 per week, and more, in just a few weeks!”). You should avoid these so called “opportunities” like the plague…if they were for real everyone would be doing it.
Study the opportunities carefully and select the home business opportunity that seems to fit your own particular style or talents. What is a good choice for one person may be a very poor fit for someone else. The common thread that applies to everyone is that you must be “for real” (as indicated above) and the business opportunity itself must be “for real”.
